Hello and Welcome...
I would like to wish you a very warm welcome to One Cup Measure, my blog well pretty much about food, my attempts, mishaps and successes that I have in the kitchen, plus anything else related to and of interest. It is all about simple and delicious home cooking, I am not trying to win over the judges on Masterchef Australia or My Kitchen Rules, well not just yet anyway, but you never know where things might lead. Who knows this could just be the start of that journey.
A bit about me...
My name is Jessica and I live in the beautiful city of Brisbane, Australia. From an early age I was introduced to cooking by my mum, starting out as a toddler playing with the mixing bowl and spoon, to getting to be able to help with the measuring, pouring and mixing and finally graduating to be left to my own devices once I hit high school and started Home Ec. I am greatful that Home Ec. was part of the school curriculum as I was taught the basics that everyone should know. I have continued to teach myself and develop my skills by having plenty of practice in the kitchen. I take inspiration from various cooking shows and always love trying new recipes as well as keeping to the tried and tested family favourites.
I am still in the beginning process of this site and getting it up and running to a point where I am happy with it, so I hope you can bare with me...
